ITINERARY
My Tho boat station (Tien Giang province)
Embark on a boat on the Mekong River and travel downstream, past Dragon Island, to see daily river activities such as catching and growing fish on a farm. Before crossing the 3-kilometer-long Mekong River, let’s take a moment to appreciate the vast river and its 4 islands: Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle, and Phoenix. Then, you’ll cross the large Mekong River to the other side of Ben Tre.
Continue down little canals through coconut jungles and palm trees, with mangrove plants growing wildly alongside the river. Ride a hand-rowed sampan through the canal and enjoy the beauty of the countryside.
Step ashore, enter the local houses to see bee farms made by farmers and enjoy some fruits, honey tea, and listen to local music shows. Hop on a moto cart to discover tranquil coconut country along local lanes. Stop by the coconut candy workshop, and enjoy some sweets.
After hours of exploring, let’s have lunch at a local riverside restaurant with local Vietnamese food. You can taste popular dishes such as fried elephant-eared fish and fresh prawns here.
Let’s cross the large Mekong River and go back to the pier in My Tho.
