What’s for lunch ?

When visiting Bến Tre, tourists should try a special dish called ‘fried elephant-ear fish.’ The combination of fresh ingredients, balanced flavors, and appealing presentation makes this dish truly unique and distinctive.

As you can see the picture attached below, a delicious dish includes  fish , surrounding  various vegetables, herbs such as mint, Thai basil, perilla leaves, julienned green mango, cucumber, lettuce, and rice vermicelli. A stack of thin rice paper sheets waits nearby, translucent and delicate and  a small bowl of nước chấm gleams amber in the light, speckled with chili and slivers of garlic.

Believe in me, the striking contrast: the deep amber crispness of the fish against the lush greens and bright garnishes will give you a memory that lingers long after the last bite,

*How to enjoy it?

-The Deep-fried Elephant-ear Fish is usually served with steamed rice, vegetables, herbs, and sweet, sour and hot fish sauce dip

-To eat,  just wrap fish, rice noodles, vegetables and herbs in rice paper. Then dip the wrap into the tasty sauce made from fish sauce or Mam nem ( a kind of sauce made of fermented fish, s powerfully pungent, similar to shrimp paste)
